This festival is an international, multi-cultural celebration, and sporting event. It is the largest multicultural festival in New York and one of the largest Dragon Boat festivals in the US. The festival keeps up the age-old tradition of Dragon Boat Racing with a fleet of both traditional custom made teak boats and modern fiberglass boats, all of which conform to the International Dragon Boat Federation standards and are approved for International Dragon Boat Racing.
